USAID Turengere Abana (Let us protect children) is a USAID funded program and implemented by FXB Rwanda. This program aims at improving the social economic wellbeing of orphans, vulnerable children and their families; the nutrition status of children under five years , provides nutrition education and counseling to pregnant and lactating women as well as water, sanitation and hygiene behavior.


Sugira Muryango program (Family Strengthening Intervention) is a home-visiting approach that promotes positive parent-child relationships and fosters child development. It is based on the Family Strengthening Intervention (FSI) model originally developed and tested in Rwanda. The program offers active coaching to parents and caregivers of young children to promote early stimulation, development and responsive parenting.


FXBVillages program has been implemented in 65 FXBVillages across Southern, Western , Eastern and Kigali City since 2000. The program is a 3 year integrated approach providing support to poor families in education, nutrition, health and housing to meet their immediate needs while building their income capacity to become economically self- sufficient.



Improved Services for Vulnerable Populations (ISVP) Program, locally known as Twiyubake program, was a five-year(2016-2020) USAID/ PEPFAR funded program that was implemented by a consortium of four international organizations led by Global Communities and six Rwanda Partner organizations including FXB Rwanda.
The program’s goal was to assist 50,000 vulnerable households (around 250,000 children, youth and adults) in 12 districts to reduce economic vulnerability by empowering parents to make investments that meet the unique needs of their families, particularly young children and adolescents. The program was implemented in Burera and Musanze District.


USAID Gikuriro Program (Integrated WASH and Nutrition activities) was a USAID funded program that was implemented by CRS (Catholic Relief Services) and SNV (Netherland Development Organization) as prime, with Rwandan partner organizations as sub partners: FXB Rwanda, CARITAS Rwanda, AEE Rwanda, FVA, Duhamic Adri and YWCA. The program aimed at improving the hygiene and sanitation behavior and practices of vulnerable households in Nyanza District. The program has reached 57,000 households, 420 community clubs were created and Rwf200 Million were saved by the beneficiaries through savings groups.


Biochar was an agricultural project funded by the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco and implemented by FXB Rwanda in Rubona sector, Rwamagana district. The aim of the project was to improve the farmers’ productivity, nutrition and living conditions of their families by producing and distributing Biochar Manure. It is an organic fertilizer made from renewable biomass (agricultural or forestry residues, invasive plants etc.) was applied to enhance the soil and agriculture activities done by farmers in rural areas. Biochar was distributed to 800 individuals and cooperatives of farmers to increase their production. Biochar produced 40,000 kg of fertilizer.


AMIEP was a 1 year program funded by FXB International and implemented by FXB Rwanda in Shyogwe Sector, Muhanga District. The project had three components of intervention namely Education, HIV and Economic empowerment targeting 500 adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).


Kura Mwana, ‘’Grow up and thrive child’’ was a nutritional and WASH behavioral change program that targeting women of reproductive age and children under 5. The aim of the program was to provide an environment for children to grow and reach their potential by improving their nutritional status and change families WASH behaviors and practices. This program was funded by US Embassy from 2017 to 2019.
