Physical non-wellbeing is a problem not only for an individual but also for a society and negatively impacts the economy at large. Despite the progress made by the Government of Rwanda there is still a way to go to improve the health status of Rwandans. Bad habits, lack of knowledge, limited access to health care services and poverty among others are the main causes of poor health.

Health education, illness prevention and improvement of access to health care services are the pillars of the health component which principally aims at instigating behavioral change by imparting appropriate knowledge on basic health principles, educating beneficiaries on illness prevention, particularly concerning prevalent diseases, HIV/AIDS and STI as well as reproductive health. FXB Rwanda also promotes the access to health care services, the early diagnostic, treatment adherence and systematic linkages with clinical services.

FXB has reached 550,000 people in the domain of HIV/AIDS prevention through Voluntarily HIV testing and Counseling, psychosocial support, referring and linkages with clinical services for a proper follow-up. More than 300,000 people were supported to access medical insurance and trainings, counseling and referring have been done around the Gender Based Violence

FXB Rwanda distributed 235,000 condoms to beneficiaries to prevent new HIV/AIDS infections and unwanted/early pregnancies. More than 133,000 youth have been reached with sexual reproductive health and rights education through school based or community based channels.
